Matin, Midi, Sieste

This project was designed in collaboration with Juliette Berthonneau.

Research began during a residency at Lainamac, Villa Chateaufavier in Aubusson, a region renowned for its rich weaving heritage. The first prototypes were handmade on a TC2 Jacquard loom before being adapted for industrial production tailored to customized interior design projects. Each curtain or hanging piece becomes a true work of art, exploring the interplay between transparency and opacity.

The pieces form a triptych designed to be viewed and used by three people, inviting users to play with light while reconfiguring living spaces. This approach, combining contemporary design and sustainability, reflects Justine and Juliette’s commitment to eco-responsible creation and the promotion of local craftsmanship.

Building on the research initiated during this residency, we designed and installed curtains for the Biosphere experience in Boulogne in July 2024. Inspired by Japanese Noren, these bio-sourced wool curtains function as thermal screens, providing insulation for the sleeping area.

Caroline and Corentin will live in this urban apartment for four months, and their experience will be documented in a series set to air in 2025 on Arte.
